T-PHONE IS CASE SENSITIVE:
Which means that smith, Smith, and SMITH are three different names.
It's best to make your enteries letter style, for example, Smith,
Largent, Jones and so on.
USING T-PHONE.
Simply select what you wish to do. Add new records, view the
telephone listings that you have entered, delete a record, get
a record by name, or modify a phone record.
View records gives you a Quick Listing. It shows the Last Name,
First Name, Area Code, and Phone Number of all of your listings 18
at a time.
To get a complete listing of Phone Number and Address use GET PHONE
RECORD BY NAME. Type the last name and a full listing will be shown.
Since the Last Name is in alphabetical order, the first entry of the
same last name will likely be shown, you may need to press Enter and
continue doing so until you get the listing you want.
When using DELETE A PHONE RECORD or MODIFY A PHONE RECORD, the first
entry of the last name you entered will appear. The prompt will ask
DELETE THIS RECORD (Y/N)? or CHANGE THIS RECORD (Y/N)?. If this isn't
the record you wish to change press N then Enter, the prompt will then
ask SEE NEXT RECORD (Y/N)?, so you press Y and Enter and the next
name will appear. Continue these steps until you get to the name you
want to Delete or Change.
If you are in MODIFY A RECORD and have pressed Y for CHANGE THIS
RECORD (Y/N)? another list of options will appear:
ENTER THE NUMBER OF THE FIELD
TO CHANGE (1-8) ZERO QUITS
you will see the full listing of the phone record with the numbers 1
to 8 to the left. If you want to change the Last Name press 1 and
fill in the prompt, you may change every field listed if you wish.
Once you have finished making changes press zero and Enter and you
will return to the menu.
SHORT-CUT HINT:
When you are using GET A RECORD BY NAME, DELETE A RECORD, or MODIFY
A RECORD you don't need to type in the full name, for example, if
you have a last name Sampson and a last Singles and several Smiths,
if you want to see the Smiths, you may type Sm and hit Enter the
first smith you entered will show on the screen; however if you wish
to start at the beginning of the last names that begin with S, you can
type S and hit Enter.
When using GET A RECORD BY NAME, you don't need to press y then Enter
to see the next record, You may simply hit the Enter Key to get the
next record. Every time you press Enter the next phone record will
appear until you come to end of all your listings. At that time the
prompt ENTER LAST NAME will appear again, type the initial of the
lowest letter last name any you will start again or press enter to
return to the menu.
If you run from DOS, you may want a short-cut to start T-PHONE.
At the C:> Prompt type:
COPY CON TP.BAT
@ECHO OFF
CD\T-PHONE
MENU.BAT
NOW PRESS FUNCTION KEY F6 THEN ENTER. A Z^ will appear on the
screen, and when you press enter the file will be saved. Now
